Description
These Utah jasper lapidary slabs of red, orange & yellow look amazing.
The rough for these lapidary slabs came from a local rock shop in northern Utah. It originally came from a large personal collection in Southern Utah before being purchased by the rock shop.
This beautiful Jasper could have come from anywhere in central to southern Utah. A search on the internet reveals several “look-alike” jaspers. These clues help to give some insight as to where it may have come from.
The owner of the rock shop we purchased this material from said that the rough that has translucent chalcedony in it looks like jasper that comes from an area known as Tin Can Flats in Utah.
There is also some bright yellow and orange/red material that looks very much like what is being sold on the web as Yellow Cat Redwood Replacement Petrified Wood. This jasper also looks similar to some of the Jasper found near Wherever this jasper comes from it’s gorgeous with beautiful patterns in red, yellow, and orange. Because this Jasper came from an old collection it is unlikely that we will ever be able to get more of it.
