Fossils

Many popular lapidary slabs are cut from actual fossils most of which are agatized and are hard enough for use in jewelry.  These include many types of shells, corals or even dinosaur bones.An example of a popular fossil used in lapidary is Red Horn Coral.  This beautiful fossil is a great substitute for coral that comes from our oceans helping to protect our endangered coral reefs.
