Description

Tiffany Stone originates from the Brush Wellman Beryllium Mine, situated west of Delta, Utah. This exceptional stone is frequently misidentified as opalized fluorite, a non-existent material. It is composed of a combination of various rocks and minerals, including agate, jasper, fluorite, opal, dolomite, and manganese oxides.

Historically, this material was relatively affordable and readily available. Our initial encounter with this material occurred approximately 20 years ago at a vintage rock shop near Saint David, Arizona, sparking an immediate desire to acquire some.

Concurrently, the material’s popularity surged, leading to increased demand, the Brush Wellman Beryllium Mine’s closure to collectors, and a subsequent significant price escalation.

Fortunately, we secured a quantity of high-quality ‘Old Stock’ material prior to the substantial price hike. Given our proximity to the mine, we continue to encounter this material at local rock shops, including a notable find at a garage sale; however, acquiring exceptional pieces is becoming increasingly challenging.
