Rhodonite is a pink manganese silicate.  A black matrix of manganese oxide is often associated with rhodonite.  Rhodonite has a Mohs hardness of 5.5 to 6

Rhodonite is found in several locations throughout the world including Russia, Peru, Canada, Argentina, Brazil, Australia, England, India, Sweden, and the United States.
