Purple Chalcedony nodules from Chihuahua Mexico. We were a little disappointed with this purchase from JH Kalmore Company. Advertised as Mexican Purple Chalcedony, this appears to be chert nodules (technically chalcedony) with little to no purple color.
Some of the rough did have some purplish color but the majority did not. We did observe interesting patterns in some of the nodules.
To be fair, it’s difficult to judge how nice this material is until we cut it. We’ve been disappointed with other purchases from JH Kalmore Company before only to be pleasantly surprised once the material was cut.
