Description
Wildfire Bubble Opal was formed as an approximately 19,000-year-old Pleistocene deposit. Often called “Bacon Opal” due its layered banding. The Wildfire Bubble Opal claim (also known as the Rock Dreams claim) near Milford, Utah, is owned and operated by Mark and Pam Marriott.
We were recently purchased this amazing 16 pound piece of Hyalite Bubble Opal from Utah Dump Digger. We’ve considered signing up to join a group to dig at the claim owned by Rock Dreams. Another option was buy directly from Rock Dreams at the many gem shows they attend however, this was such a nice piece we had to purchase it.
This beautiful material was formed when bubbles from an ancient hot spring were trapped inside a hydrothermal deposit. This is such a nice example of this beautiful material that it’s going into our display case and we’ll probably never cut it
