Wendover Plume Agate

From a lapidary perspective, when a form of microcrystalline quartz is translucent, it is often referred to as agate.  Geologists however, restrict the term agate, to specimens featuring banding or color patterns, which were created under specific conditions. To avoid confusion, we utilize common trade names for our products.  These trade names may not be accurate from a geological perspective.
