Description

Sodalite, a gemstone found in diverse regions worldwide is often confused with Lapis Lazuli due to their shared visual characteristics, understanding their distinctions is key. Both feature white calcite bands; however, Sodalite showcases a darker, almost black hue, while Lapis Lazuli boasts a brighter coloration, frequently adorned with pyrite inclusions. Interestingly, certain Sodalite specimens exhibit peach or pink calcite bands, adding to their unique appeal. Exercise caution when acquiring these stones, as misidentification is common in the market.
