We made a bulk purchase of jasper & agate from a local rock shop.
According to the shop proprietor, the specimens featuring translucent chalcedony are called Tin Can Jasper, because they come from the Tin Can Flats area in Utah, a name that pays tribute to the numerous tin cans littering the region.
