This beautiful agate was sold to us as Royal Aztec Lace Agate however once it was cut it appears to be Paul Bunyan Agate which comes from a deposit east of Barstow, California. The deposit has been thought to be depleted for many years however it is now being worked by William Johnson, the same person that has the Barrel Cactus Moss Agate claim.
We have only been able to purchase one piece of rough which we acquired many years ago. It was purchased at an old rock shop near Tucson, AZ. The rock shop was quite old and most of the lapidary material found there was old stock. Unfortunately, the rock shop is long gone.
The slabs have purple, gold, orange, and reddish colors. It’s absolutely beautiful!
Hopefully we will have the opportunity to purchase more now that it is being mined once again.
